Sarah Palisi Chapin

Hail Merry Snack Foods

Sarah Chapin serves as CEO of Hail Merry Snack Foods, an organic, gluten-free, vegan, raw, omega-rich foods company founded in 2007 by Susan O'Brien.

 

Sarah was a founding partner in The Chain Gang, a private equity and business development advisory practice she built with Lane Cardwell and Bryce King and operated from 2005-2008.

 

From 1995 to 2003, Sarah was CEO and later Chair of the Board of Enersyst Development Center, a research and development, intellectual property, food and technology incubator later acquired by Turbochef and then The Middleby Companies.

 

A previous executive officer of GrandMet/Burger King and director at Pepsico/Pizza Hut, Sarah has built a career that spans foodservice, agribusiness, distribution and technology.

 

She has served on the boards of more than ten for profit companies since 1992 including IRM, Maggie Moos, Jersey Mike's, Sandstone, Diachemix, Baker Bros., and was one of the developers for RSI, Burger King's purchasing coop. She created the Pizza Hut Express kiosk program in the 80's, the food industry's first ever bake and display miniature branded outlet.

 

Sarah is certified as a board member by the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), and currently serves on the Board of Directors of PrimeSource Foodservice Equipment and publicly traded Caribou Coffee, for which she chairs the Compensation Committee.

 

Sarah is a member of the Women's Foodservice Forum, Women Corporate Directors, and Texas Advisory Board of the Children’s Defense Fund where she will chair its 2010 Beat the Odds® Scholarship Program in Dallas.

 

A past recipient of Emerging Leader Award from the WFF, the IFMA Spark Plug, Sarah received her Doctorate of Foodservice from NAFEM, and has received Purdue University's Outstanding Young Professional award.

 

Sarah and husband Jud Chapin reside in Dallas.
