Glenda Kane of Corpus Christi was recently
appointed by Governor Rick Perry as the Chair of the State Health
Services Council. The Council is responsible for the management,
operations, policies and rules for public health, mental health
and substance abuse programs in Texas.
Glenda has a wealth of experience in health and human services
policy development. She was appointed by the Governor in 2002
to serve on the nine-member Texas Department of Mental Health
and Mental Retardation board of directors.
She also is a member of the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Board
of Visitors Executive Committee, founder of the Blanton Davis
Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and has served on the Board of
the Nueces County Hospital District and the Coastal Bend Community
Foundation.
She received a Bachelor’s degree from Lindenwood College
in St. Charles, Missouri.
