Soraya McClelland is a native of Los Angeles
and a graduate of the University of Southern California, with
a degree in education.
She has lived in Texas for over twenty years, in San Antonio
and now Houston, and brings extensive community involvement
and a deep commitment to social causes to the CDF board.
In addition to the Children's Defense Fund Texas Advisory Board,
Soraya serves on the boards of the Society for the Performing
Arts, Communities in Schools, and Holocaust Museum Houston.
Soraya is the very active wife of Scott McClelland, President
of the Houston Division of H-E-B, and mother of two daughters,
Colleen and Megan.
She is a member of Memorial Drive Presbyterian Church and leads
bible study every Thursday evening.
