Mr. Solar is a national board member of the
Children's Defense Fund and an accomplished civil trial lawyer,
counselor at law and frequent author and lecturer on legal topics.
He has been the recipient of the University of Houston Law
Center Dean's Award for outstanding loyalty and dedication and
the State Bar of Texas President's Award for service to the
profession.
Mr. Solar has been acknowledged by numerous civic organizations
for his pro bono activities and promotion of social justice,
including the League of Latin American Citizens (LULAC) and
the Mexican American Opportunities Foundation.
Mr. Solar served as counsel to the Republic of Mexico's Secretaria
de Economia y Fomento Industrial during the North American Free
Trade Agreement negotiations and adoption process. Mr. Solar
has since been named counsel to the Republic of Mexico.
Mr. Solar has served on numerous community boards including
the Greater Houston Partnership, the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center
Board of Visitors, the Federal Reserve Bank of Houston, the
University of Houston and Teach for America. |
