| Cover the Uninsured
Week is a national initiative of the Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation to raise awareness about the nearly 47 million
Americans - including 9 million children
- without health insurance. More than 5.5 million Texans –
including 1.5 million children – lack health insurance.
Hard working people are forced to gamble every
day that they won't get sick or injured. Just one serious illness
or injury can wipe out an uninsured family's bank account, and
the problem is getting worse.
Join CDF and thousands of other Americans by getting involved
in this year's Cover the Uninsured Week. We need comprehensive
health care reform to ensure that at least every child and pregnant
woman has access to affordable health care coverage.

Due to the changing economy, you may have recently lost
health care coverage for yourself and your family. Did you
know that your children may qualify for the Children’s
Health Insurance Program (CHIP) or Children’s Medicaid?
For more information, please check your child's school website,
front office or school nurse, or call 1 (877) 664-4080.”
3. Download a health
resources flyer and share it with newly uninsured families
4. Download a CHIP/Children’s
