On March 14th, 2008 Children's Defense Fund, the University of Houston Center for Children, Law & Policy and over 700 advocates from across the state gathered for a Texas Summit to identify effective strategies to dismantle what CDF has called the Cradle to Prison Pipeline.

Over the next 6 months, we invite you to partner with us to develop policy recommendations, community solutions, implementation plans, and a timeline to address the following key issue areas:

1. Early Childhood Education
2. Educational, Social, and Emotional Youth Development
3. Children’s Health and Mental Health Care
4. Child Abuse Prevention and Protection
5. Positive Growth through the Juvenile Justice System
6. Reducing Childhood Poverty
