CDF-Texas has offices in Houston and the Rio Grande Valley, and works statewide to represent the interests of Texas children who cannot vote, lobby or speak for themselves.

CDF-Texas:

• Raises awareness about the condition of Texas children,
• Connects children and families to programs and services that help meet their needs, and
• Works with partners statewide to coordinate broad support and form policy solutions for legislative action on behalf of Texas children.

A Healthy Start

CDF-Texas works to ensure that every Texas child has a healthy start in life with access to affordable, comprehensive and streamlined health and mental health coverage.

CDF-Texas leads statewide efforts to increase enrollment in CHIP and Children's Medicaid through legislative advocacy, community organizing, education and outreach.

A Head Start

CDF-Texas formed the Texas Early Childhood Education Coalition (TECEC) in 2003 to build a system of quality early care and education in Texas that prepares children for success in education and in life.

In 2010, TECEC became an independent entity and continues to collaborate with CDF-Texas on early childhood education and care issues.

A Fair Start

CDF-Texas works to end child poverty and secure a safe and stable future for Texas children.

CDF-Texas helps low-income families keep more of their hard-earned tax dollars through tax benefits and credits, financial literacy and free tax preparation assistance in vulnerable communities.

A Safe Start

CDF advocates at the national level to secure a safe start in life for every child, free from violence, neglect, or threat of harm. Read about the work of CDF national's child welfare division.

A Moral Start
