Rio Grande Valley Office

Established in 2000, CDF-Texas' Rio Grande Valley (CDF-RGV) office works in collaboration with school districts, faith and community-based organizations, and business leaders to promote a Fair Start for children by facilitating access to resources that strengthen the capacity of families to support their children.

CDF-RGV focuses on a Healthy Start for children through collaborative outreach that promotes enrollment, utilization and renewal of Children's Medicaid and CHIP.

CDF-RGV coordinates south Texas regional involvement for two CDF-Texas initiatives:

100% Campaign

A partnership with seven school districts (serving over 107,500 students) that engages school staff and volunteers in assisting parents to apply for CHIP and Children's Medicaid coverage for their children

Family Asset Building Taskforce

A project with schools, businesses and community partners to raise awareness about tax benefits and provide free tax filing services which generates millions of dollars in refunds to low-income families.
