Anat Kelman Shaw serves as Communications Director for CDF-TX,
overseeing CDF's written, printed and online communications,
including cdftexas.org,
txfinishline.org,
facebook.com/cdftexas,
and managing CDF's media relations.
Anat works closely with Policy to coordinate and communicate
CDF's statewide advocacy efforts through the Texas
Finish Line Campaign. She helped to produce two In
Harm's Way reports that were instrumental in improving
health coverage policies for thousands of Texas children. Anat
also serves as project manager for Houston's annual Beat
the Odds® scholarship program and fundraiser.
In 2004, Anat's report on the state of elementary student
health coverage in the Houston ISD led to the successful close
of the school-based outreach pilot funded by the Michael and
Susan Dell foundation.
Since 2004, Anat has supported the organization in a variety
of capacities, including Outreach Coordinator, Statewide Outreach
Coordinator and Manager of Communications and Development. As
Statewide Outreach Coordinator, Anat helped coordinate outreach
efforts in 19 school districts of Harris county and produced
child health billboard and trayliner campaigns in ten Texas
cities.
She holds a B.A. degree in Government with a minor in Spanish
from the University of Texas at Austin and is pursuing a Masters
of Public Administration from the University of Houston.
