Austin – On Tuesday, February 15th, Lan Bentsen, co-founder of Frontera Resources, a Texas-based international oil company and families join CDF-Texas to testify before the House Appropriations Sub-committee as lawmakers make important funding decisions under Article II, for Health and Human Services. The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and Children’s Medicaid are two programs that not only provide affordable health coverage to millions of Texas children, they help shoulder the burdens placed on local taxpayers by bringing millions of federal tax dollars back home to Texas. Families will testify about the real life consequences associated with cuts to children’s health coverage, and Lan Bentsen will address the economic shortsightedness and fiscal irresponsibility cuts to HHSC will mean for Texas businesses and taxpayers.
