We collaborate with students, parents, and stakeholder organizations to make sure schools have sufficient resources and that resources for education are not pitted against other essentials, such as health and wellbeing, to ensure every student has what they need to succeed. We also work with community partners to ensure more Texas children have access to quality out-of-school time enriching and learning opportunities through our CDF Freedom Schools program.
CDF Freedom Schools® in Texas
CDF Freedom Schools® are implemented in partnership with community based organizations, places of worship, schools, colleges and universities. Each program site is led by a Project Director, Site Director, and college-aged Servant Leader Interns all trained by CDF to deliver the integrated reading curriculum (IRC) and to provide supervision and administrative oversight. This intergenerational leadership team comes together to provide a safe and restorative learning space where children are inspired to become lifelong learners and motivated to make a difference in their community.
