Brenda Terán serves as Projects Coordinator for CDF
RGV. Brenda is a Pharr native and member of a community service/higher
education oriented migrant family.
She earned a BBA in Management from the University of Texas
Pan American with studies in English and French. Upon graduation
in 1998, Brenda assumed a management position with an insurance
company and in 2002 joined the CDF staff. Currently, she is
working on her Master’s Degree in Management of Nonprofit
Agencies.
Brenda has taken a leadership role in organizing staff and
parent volunteers as “health champions” with the
insure-a-kid program in seven school districts to promote children’s
health insurance outreach.
Brenda has been certified by the Internal Revenue Service as
a TaxWise Train-The-Trainer and has worked at the CDF RGV Volunteer
Income Tax Assistance (VITA) centers helping to train, supervise,
and mentor VITA volunteers.
She participated in the Freedom Schools training at Haley Farm
in 2005 and represented the Rio Grande Valley at National’s
Cradle to Prison Pipeline Latino Forum in March 2006.
