Olga Gabriel

Development and Community Relations Specialist

Olga Gabriel serves as Development and Community Relations Specialist for CDF RGV. She joined CDF in 2001 and recently returned after a two year absence where she served as District Director for U.S. Congressman Lloyd Doggett.

Olga received her Master of Public Health degree from Texas A&M University with a concentration in Administration and Community Health. She has over 15 years experience in non-profit organizations including opening school-based health clinics, as a Health Educator and a Grant Writer for a non-profit hospital.

While at CDF, Olga directed a three-year children’s health coverage research project that resulted in a 70% decrease in emergency room visits. She developed and co-chaired the Coalition for Valley Families Financial Literacy Task Force (coordinated by CDF RGV) and was recently appointed by the Mayor of McAllen to the McAllen Community Development Block Grant Board.

She is a successful business owner and serves as an Adjunct Professor in the Health & Kinesiology Department of the University of Texas Pan American.
