CDF-Texas invites you to attend the Summer’s most inspiring event. Join over 600 young scholars and community leaders at the official CDF Freedom Schools End of Summer celebration in Houston, Wednesday, July 27th from 11:30am to 1:00pm.

Come out and celebrate the spirit of reading, as we recognize the accomplishments of the class of 2011 Texas CDF Freedom Schools. 

Individual tickets are $25. 

Donations to Children's Defense Fund–Texas Freedom Schools are tax-deductible and will be used to support youth development and summer enrichment initiatives for underserved and at-risk youth in our communities.

What is the CDF Freedom Schools^® Program?
The CDF Freedom Schools program is a signature program of the Children’s Defense Fund, the nation’s leading voice for children. CDF Freedom Schools are designed to prevent summer learning loss and help bridge the achievement gap by providing enriching, safe, and nurturing out-of-school-time educational opportunities for low to moderate income school children.

Since 1999, the CDF-Texas Freedom Schools program has grown to serve more than 400 children annually with summer reading, civic engagement, and cultural learning, in underserved communities where resources are limited.
